Our story
MediaSort was born from a real frustration; one that anyone who shoots video on their iPhone knows well.
As a content creator who shoots constantly from landscape footage for YouTube, vertical clips for TikTok and Reels, square photos for Instagram grids, and wide shots for clients, my camera roll holds thousands of files.
The problem: Apple's Photos app gives you no way to filter by aspect ratio. Every time I needed vertical clips, I was scrolling through thousands of photos and videos to find them.
"As a content creator constantly switching between platforms and formats, I built the tool I needed."
— DEANNA BONN, DEVELOPER & FOUNDERMediaSort started as an idea, went through a prototype phase to validate the concept, and became a fully native iOS app built in Swift with PhotoKit. The golden spiral in the logo, a nod to the golden ratio, reflects both the mathematical nature of aspect ratios and the visual craft that matters to the people who'll use it.
The app is built to feel like it belongs in Apple's own suite; minimal, fast, and intuitive. A first-time user should understand how to use it within seconds of opening it. No tutorial required.
MediaSort is launching on the App Store for iPhone. It's a freemium app. The core ratio filtering is free forever. MediaSort Pro unlocks auto-load on launch, batch export by ratio, creating albums by ratio, advanced filtering, and export as a different ratio, giving power features for creators and professionals.
Pro is priced at $2.99/month. That's less than a cup of coffee for a tool that saves hours of scrolling through photos. Save even more with the annual plan priced at $19.99/year.
